Devices and setup
Neither Samsung’s Tizen nor LG’s webOS ships an IPTV player, so you install a third-party app from the TV’s store and enter your Xtream credentials. It takes five to ten minutes — the step-by-step is in our Samsung and LG installation guide.
If your TV predates 2018, a Fire TV Stick 4K or an Android TV box at CHF 40–60 gives a far smoother experience than the set’s own processor.
Bandwidth
Budget 25 Mbit/s per 4K stream, or about 15 Mbit/s with HEVC. Where it stands legally
Watching for private use is not prohibited in Switzerland — Article 19 of the Swiss Copyright Act permits private use of a published work. What the law targets is retransmission of protected content by a provider that does not hold the rights: the provider, not the viewer. The device count is the number of simultaneous streams, not the number of installations. On a one-device plan you can set the service up on the living-room TV, a tablet and a phone; the limit only applies when two of them are playing at the same time.
What internet speed do I need?
Around 5 Mbit/s for SD, 10 Mbit/s for Full HD and 25 Mbit/s for 4K UHD, per simultaneous stream. HEVC (H.265) encoding cuts that by roughly 40%, so about 15 Mbit/s for 4K. Every Swiss fibre plan is comfortably above these thresholds.
Which devices are supported?

Is a VPN required?
No. The servers are in Europe and none of the three Swiss operators blocks access. A VPN adds latency and reduces usable throughput — it is frequently the cause of stuttering playback rather than a fix for it.
